Journeys & Aspirations (JAA) is a youth-focused media platform created to share the experiences, perspectives, challenges, and ambitions of high school and university students from different backgrounds, communities, and countries.
Through video interviews, JAA gives young people a space to talk about the journeys that have shaped who they are and the aspirations that are guiding where they hope to go. Our conversations explore education, personal growth, academic and career interests, leadership, community involvement, creativity, social issues, setbacks, and the goals students hope to pursue in the future.
The name Journeys & Aspirations reflects the two sides of every student story. A journey is about experience: where someone has come from, what they have encountered, what they have learned, and how they have changed along the way. An aspiration is about possibility: what they hope to accomplish, the path they want to follow, and the kind of contribution they hope to make.
At JAA, we believe young people should be heard not only after they become successful professionals or recognized leaders, but while they are still developing their ideas, discovering their interests, and defining their futures. Students already have thoughtful perspectives on the issues shaping their generation, including technology, sustainability, education, culture, business, public service, and social change.
Our interviews are intended to be personal, thoughtful, and authentic. We are interested not only in achievements, but also in motivation, uncertainty, challenges, curiosity, and growth. We want to understand what students care about, what has influenced them, what they are working toward, and how they hope to make a difference.
By documenting these conversations, JAA seeks to build a growing collection of youth voices from around the world. Together, these interviews offer a meaningful record of a generation reflecting on where it has been and imagining where it wants to go.
